Inhibitor switch

Post by Tleg93 »

I've been throwing a code 51 (inhibitor switch) on my legacy. What is the inhibitor swtich, where is it and how can I get to it? Any info would be appreciated.

It's mounted on the side of the transmission, and basically is the electronic switch on the transmission that tells the TCU/ECU what gear the Trans is in.

Hmmm, there are two of these sensor things on my tranny. One for each shaft?

You see where the shifter cable goes

Where it attaches to the trans is the inhibitor switch. That whole assembly is the switch.
