Whale like sound @ 10 inHG VAC (Maybe BPV?)

Post by Jutboy »

My 91 Legacy SS is making a whale like sound (I can't really think of a better way to describe it) at 10 IN. hg VAC....if I give it the slightest amount of gas it starts pumping out PSI and the sound goes away....

sounds like - > http://www.lawrencehallofscience.org/whale/

I heard it maybe be my BPV....can someone explain to me where this is located and how I should service it properly.

Thanks a lot guys - Justin

Take a look at your IAC(idle air control) valve assem, mine was doing the same thing. i free'd up my iac and now its fine.

is your idle smooth or rough, and whats it idling at?
