Sounds Like a thud under hood while shifting...

Post by JTSPEED »

Just replaced my knock sensor and water temp sensor so now my car runs likes a top, But while driveing it hard with radio off i hear a wierd nose when I shift and the boost releases. Sounds like a thud or something closeing under the hood on drivers side. Any ideas? 92 Turbo SS 5 speed, STOCK

If it's doing it under heavy acceleration it could be a torn motor mount.

Wow, I didn't even see the typos. Motor mount is correct.

Yep,
Probably one of those damned liquid filled mounts popped. Go see Jon Cooley at Flatirons and get some group N mounts. They are the same for Impreza/WRX. You will thank me later...
