I'm apparantly good at breaking driving lights [56k no]

Post by jamal »

So this is the third time in two years I've broken one of these off, and the 2nd time in two months. This time it was a truck tire on the freeway at night in traffic. The car in front of me kicked it up. Anyway, if anyone has any interest in what the insides of an FF1000 light are, here are some pictures:

Broken grille and dented hood:

The lens is very durable:

ABS dust cover not so much:

After the last time I decided against getting steel or aluminum mounts to avoid breaking the light. It seems to have paid off.

Neato magnesium reflector:

My collection of parts:

So the cost of repair parts is like $20, which isn't so bad. I guess now would be a good time to find a turbo grille to go with the turbo bumper I'm buying.

That's odd. My Hella 500's have had all kinds of shit thrown at them, without incident.

yeah this was a pretty big piece of truck tire. It actually wrapped over my hood and was dragging on the ground until I moved off the road and stopped, at which point it dragged under my car for a bit.

You suck. you are buying the white turbo bumper, which i made a very decent offer on to put on my real turbo car, which is white, which for some reson the prevous owner replaced the front bumper with a non turbo bumper. I am sick of trying to get the real turbo bumper in white, for my car.
again, you suck.
well, you know, i am just frustrated, cause people are putting turbo bumpers, on non turbo cars, when i have a turbo car without the correct bumper.
and the one you are getting was in the correct color of my car.

Turns he is going to try to sell the whole car and I'm probably not getting it if that's any consolation.
