How do I adjust my hydraulic clutch?

Post by IronMonkeyL255 »

As stated, how do I adjust my hydraulic clutch?

I swapped my '91 SS to a 5-speed, and the clutch releases very near the top of the pedal stroke. My hydraulic system isn't leaking any, and the pedal is stiff as all hell. When I say stiff, I mean stiffer than a stage 3 Roush Mustang (strong clutch actuated by a cable).......

I think this is because the clutch is releasing at the same portion of the stroke where the 'compensator' spring is pushing instead of pulling the pedal.

Which way should I adjust it?

Ive looked at it but never felt the need to adjust it. The only adjustment ive found is where the piston rod for the clutch master cylinder connects to the cross bar by the gas pedal. Its threaded with a jamnut.
Other then that i dont think there are any other adjustments.

That's what I was thinking.

I guess I'll just leave it, since I'm getting used to it.
