Music to my ears

Post by scoobydude »

Was doing some work on my exhaust today and decided to fire it up without any muffler or anything after the downpipe. Im thinking i should keep it this way.

haha i should upload a video of my car. I have an electric cutout at the end of a 3" catless dp. Open it sounds exactly like that, and man is it a sweet sweet sound. Cruising around 2k it gets the really nice a throaty blub blub blub blub blub and then the turbo winding down when i come off the throttle.

I took my car for a quick rip when I took off my axleback. Sounded just like that except for the turbo sound of course. But then I put it back on cause my car would run really crappy with out it. OH I needs the backpressure and I am hatin' it. I wish I had turbo (maybe in the future). I love the sound of that throaty blub blub blub though. I get some with my sti axleback. Anyway enough of my rambling.

kind of an off topic thread anyway :P

my car runs crazy with my cutout open. I was giving her on the highway the other day with the cutout open. I got to a certain speed and i just started making more boost. It crawled all the way up to about 11psi before I had to look back at the road. Then i just lost power for a second so I came off the throttle.

That's a perfect case of boost creep and fuel cut :)

that's what I though, but I didn't want to bust in saying what I had without knowing exactly what it was.

Thats how my setup sounds with the sti turbo back an no muffler! People on the street look right past the car as though it couldnt be anything but a big block issuing such a grumble!

Its actually quite subdued with the cat still in place. Its only REALLY loud once you get on it. My daughter loves riding in the back...any time she sees the car she says "Vrooom Vroooom!"
