Pics of the Outback

Post by Legacy777 »

I did some work on my GF's 06 Outback while she was gone. I put in XM radio....which I was struggling with what to do because everything I had seen looked tacky, but then I found this sportscaster unit, which fits nicely in the cubby. I used the kit from www.jazzyengineering.com to tap everything in.

Here's pics of that

I just got cleaning & waxing it this past weekend. Looks really good. It'd look better with tint all the way around....but she already has issues with seeing at night....so that's not an option.

Yeah it's pretty sexy. It's got the H6 & 5EAT. It goes alright. It's not my legacy, but she moves.

Yeah, and at least your g/f is cool and drives a Subaru instead of like a Chevy Malibu or some garbage like that!

Looking good. On the 8 series note, I saw a red one today. Don't see many of those rolling around.

Porsches are not for the faint of heart. Owned a 1966 Porche 912 for a time (911 with a 4 cylinder engine). Its handling was mindblowing and that was on 4 inch wide tires.

Unfortunatly the beast had an appitie for money ($79 for a door striker plate) and I was married with children.

Okay, this thread is not only cracking me up, it's creeping me out. Josh, stop copying me!

My girlfriend, who drives a 2001 2.5RS, is working out the details to co-buy a 1971 911 Targa with a good friend of hers...

That Outback is hot. The L.L. Bean doesn't go like the XT does, but it's still a nice car. I'd definitely roll in that for a daily.

Actually, she corrected me after I posted. It's a 1972 actually, and according to her, it's one of the few years in which it had mechanical fuel injection.

Actually, as part of the deal, a 1969 911 is getting thrown in too, but it's just for parts. No title, not running, bad body, etc. I'm told the current owner attempted to swap the Weber 6-pack from the 69 onto the 72, but wasn't successful.

Nick, anything else I/we should know about these monsters?

The early cars like to rust...and the parts are pretty spendy...

Other than that...they are great...and I can get you a major hookup on parts for it if you want.
