It LIVES!!!

Post by voodoochylde »

Finally! I finished work on the beast today! My beloved blue 1990 Subaru Legacy L AWD is fully reassembled and starts, runs, and moves under its own power!

I've been working on it 30 mins at a time for the past two or three months and have no prior experience working on cars.

Replaced head gaskets, exhaust gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, fuel lines, a few vacuum lines (most of them were in surprisingly good shape), replumbed the PCV system with brass fittings and new hoses, Fumoto oil drain valve, mobil 1 oil, new tranny fluid.

I also did some "Gee, I've nothing to work on so let's do something cosmetic" projects like re-painting my light bar, meshing and blacking out my grill, cleaning up the engine bay, and I replaced a little pop-out plastic piece right next to my E-Brake handle (I had cut out switch holes and it looked like crap...so I made a new one out of 16 guage galvanized steel and put in a 12v socket).

Yay for me!
