Blocking internal wastegate for EWG application

Could you use JB weld, that way when/if you decide to sell you can just grind it out with a dremel? Maybe? . Perhaps you could fasten the actuator arm to the compressor housing, and seal the wastegate door with high-temp steel. You can use high-temp steel on exhausts, and it get stronger with the heat. Then, again, if you decide to sell grind it off. Just an Idea.

Yea, Im looking into the idea of making a bracket that mounts to the wastegate actuator bolts on the turbine side, then using a heavy spring to hold the wastegate shut....

on daves rsti i just made a bracket that went from the wastegate flapper arm to the bolts on the inside of the coldside

JB weld will not withstand that kinda heat

I actually had the TD05's flapper on my OBS welded shut so a Tial EWG could be used, have not had any problems since 08/04.

If I had to do it again I'd fab a rod to keep the door shut.

All I did was put a little tack weld with the TIG between the WG shaft and the tube it goes through. It has held since may just fine. I can post pics tomorrow.
