Steering Wheels?

Post by Legwerx »

Ok, so I have a question.

I want an 02' WRX MOMO steering wheel or something neater then the goofy 1990 wheel.

Will it bolt on?

What about a 2.5 RS wheel?

Anything cool and from subaru?

You don't have an airbag - almost anything will fit. You will need an adaptor.

Well, I know of a guy that's got a 96' legacy outback with an 02 MOMO WRX steering wheel, but I am unsure of how he got it to fit....

I know I could slap an aftermarket on it, but I love the 02' WRX MOMO wheel.....

I have an '02 WRX steering wheel on my '98 LGT w/o any major modification. All I had to do was swap the cruise control paddles. The WRX & the LGT use different plugs. As for '90-'94, not too sure if it's still the same hub or if they changed it. But all '95-'99 seem to work w/o adaptors.

I think the JDM nardi wheels look real good. But I don't want to lose my cruise funtions.

Someone here (bmxkelowna, i think) installed a JDM wheel and put the cruise controls in the hub. The wheel looked really good and still had cruise functions.
Does anyone know what hub to use in order to retain your cruise functions?

The steering wheel I bought, which originally came off a JDM BF car, fit perfectly and the cruise functions perfectly.

I don't know much about the hub since it came with the wheel, but it's a Momo steering wheel.

I bought mine from jhot-imports on eBay, but they don't have any Soob steering wheels for sale at the moment.

But yeah, I guess the best one to look for would be a JDM wheel that actually came from a 1st-gen Legacy.

subyluvr- Your controls are mounted on the hub, rather than the back of the wheel?

Yes.

The entire electrical portion is in the hub. Horn and cruise. The wheel itself is just like a racing wheel; it's just a hunk of metal that mounts to the hub with six Allen-head bolts.
