** Stuck @ VIR, Engine Stuttering Under Load **

Post by Paisan »

Guys, we have the racecar @ VIR, car is ok, but have an issue that's a real problem since we have a race tomorrow and a sprint and 3hr enduro on Sunday....

Details:
2.2t 1994 Legacy 5MT

Issue:
Under load, in partial or full throttle engine is stuttering, like fuel or spark starve.

Things we are pretty sure it isn't:
Fuel Pump
Wires
Plugs
Fuel Filter

Thinking it is possibly TPS or MAF or some other electrical/ignition issue. Please let us know if you have any insight let us know ASAP.

Thanks.

Have you checked for any codes?

Have you pulled plugs to see what they look like?

Nah, haven't checked, probably too many in there, although I was looking for the diagram of where the test connectors are I think the page dissapeared a while ago :(

Bought new plugs, wires, and fuel filter tonight so we'll start by putting them in tomorrow.

Just a followup, in case anyone searches and has the same problem.

Apparently it was boost-creap created by a split downpipe. When we put it on the trailer in NJ before heading down we scraped the Graham Goode Turbo-back on the trailer this split the downpipe. This is what was causing the boost creap and thus the stuttering.
