91' Loyale 5MT into a 90' Legacy??

Post by Murphy »

i searched a little but didnt find anything on the site about Loyale (i might know the reason why)
i found a 91' Loyale 4WD 5MT with an EA82
everything is there, and i was wondering if there is a romote posibility that the tranny and rear end and clutch pedel assembly and well, the whole drive train really
would fit into the Legacy to replace my 4EAT

its got a badass 4wd push button on the shifter, does it have a differential or clutches like the 4EAT?

I don't think that the tranny would bolt up without an adapter plate.

Bellhousing is totally different.

There are adapter kits... I dont know exactly about putting an EA series trans into an EJ car, it's usually for people putting an EJ series engine into their EA car.

The clutch pedal and such is a definite no.

alright, i thought it looked a little small

what i really was looking for is a driveshaft, but i just happen to cross upon the 5mt, i have only found 1 4EAT AWD subie, the driveshaft was already taken
beleive it or not, that was the first manual subaru ive ever seen upclose

i need just the carrier bearing really, but its an odd driveshaft ill get a pick of it to explain it to you, its not the original, previous owner put it in i gues

here it is, i think its a one peice, unless there is some way i am suposed to pull it apart, i dont know who would sell a carrier bearing for it anyway since its not original, thats why im just looking for the whole thing
i have been driving with it out for about a week, my dad machined a piece of plastic to use for a plug (holding fluid quite well), and i put the FWD fuse in, only prob has been a lack of traction
what is that called, is it still called a u-joint? i have never seen one like that before

That center cv style joint was found on the 90-91 MY's I believe. I've got a driveline just like that meant for a MT sitting outside my garage. I have been meaning to scrap it because I haven't needed it. The 92 and for sure have the split style drive shafts.

No, I don't believe it can be split apart.

$15 a section and like $35 for the carrier assembly
