OK, so we managed to book a time with Dom- who does a LOT of subaru tuning locally and was HIGHLY recommended! ( If any of you know Seattle's Kito Auto Sport- he works with/ out of their building)
Anyway, after the last couple of months driving the car after getting it back from Rallitek, and then a few fixes at PIA, we KNEW that Rallitek did a quick road tune to be done with us and sent us down the road.
The car did not idle correctly, and the AFR's were way off on the top end and the bottom end.
The turbo needed to have some wastegate adjustment, and the PP6 needed to be finely tuned all throughout the range.
So Dom spent about 3 hours on the car. We rolled in at 1:15, got on the dyno around 1:40, and we got off it at about 4:45.
Dom would run the car, tune, run it then tune, on and on and on.
this is part of the end result:

The final best numbers are:
197 HP @ 5585 RPM
228 TQ @ 3537 RPM
The dotted line is the first pull. From that you can see the issues.
The Full line is one of the last runs. A huge improvement.
Now, there are still some issues that need to be handled:
The wastegate arm was a little loose, so the curve reflects this.
But when the car is hot, you can't do anything about this.
Also, the intecooler was way hot. It was not big enough to handle the power we were trying to push.
He also lowered the boost from 18 to 16. This was to try and make the power more even and linear.
Now, in comparison: He says their dyno reads low. A stock STI reads from 235-245 on their dyno. A stock WRX reads about 165.
With that, I am happy with the numbers, but I know there is more power to be had.
Sadly, one of the issues is that our cars tend to have higher mileage: this means more blow-by.
Which in turn means less cooling from the intercooler and less power overall.
Second is that we can only fit small intercoolers and the hood scoops are small also.
Jake's front mount is looking pretty good at this point.
The 565 injectors we are using are good , but at this power level not necessary. ( the 440's would be more than adequate)The 16G is easily big enough, or a VF39 would be good also. Our super 16G is more power than we can produce.
So with 15-30 more HP/TQ, we will be at least even with a STI.
A Front mount might get us there.
Another shortcut for power would be to kill the CAT, but I want to maintain emissions compliance.
The overall day was great, and the car is so much smoother.
My thanks to Dom!
