Steering column interchange

Morning all,
I'm selling a steering column from a '90 Legacy sedan (don't banish me yet, please!!), and have a lady with a '98 that was stolen/recovered, but needs a new column. I don't have a clue if they are the same, and don't want to sell it if it won't work. ANYONE??
