It seems as though their support forums are just for people who buy their unit new from an authorized dealer, so I figured I'd see what help I could get from here.
I recently purchased an Autronic SMC V1.92 from another board member, and am trying to figure out what the easiest way to get the wiring sorted out would be. The autronic loom is spliced to a plug from a Subaru ECU, but it looks as though a few of the pins have broken off and he made due. Also, there seems to be no provision for the IAC valve with the way it's wired now, as the aux output is wired for boost control. If the unit can properly control a Subaru IAC valve, I would prefer this route and use something else to monitor boost (seriously considering DTec).
So..... What do you guys think? I can put up the pins as I have them figured out thus far if that would help.
Anyone here familiar with Autronic?

Does Autronic have a website and can you download an installation guide.
I'm looking into getting a Perfect Power product used and their web site let's you download all.
Sorry, other than that don't have an answer.
Good luck!

I have the install guide, and they have all the various stuff available through the website, but I am looking for more subaru-specific kinda stuff here.
Mainly, I am wondering if the autronic can control a Subaru IAC valve. The autronic has a positive and negative pin for the aux output, and the stock ECU has open and close end pins for the IAC valve. Would these correspond to each other?

And another thing. Where will the tach get its info from on the autronic? It has no engine RPM output, yet it seems as though the tach gets its input from the ECU on the stock setup.

After looking through everything, it looks like I could get an $80 tachometer sender unit from MSD or Autometer so my tach will get signal. I have no problem with that.
Can the engine idle correctly and reliably without an IAC hooked up? The software has alot of various maps and adjustments for idle control, but would controlling the fuel and spark be totally worthless without being able to control the airflow?

The IAC defaults to partially open when not under power, no clue if the vac created by the engine will pull the valve shut, but I wouldn't be surprised.IronMonkeyL255 wrote:After looking through everything, it looks like I could get an $80 tachometer sender unit from MSD or Autometer so my tach will get signal. without being able to control air flow, you can do some things such as block off the IAC port hole and adjust the throttle stop to open a little more and provide a higher idle, somthing like 1000 rpms stock; when you cut on A/C and whatnot the engine won't be able to modulate airflow to deal with the increased load, so a higher default idle will allow the engine to keep running when you turn the A/C on and off, increase the alternator load/etc.
Just keep that and mind, and yes; Autronic doesn't support or offer any assistance to third party purchasers, that's just how it goes; now if you do buy their product from a dealer (about $1800 last I checked for a PnP board meant for the 1996 WRX; compatible with our legacies with some pinout swaps in the harness) you get all kinds of forum support, so I've heard.

Screw it.
I'll use the PWM output for IAC and get a good electronic boost controller.
