Springs/Shock for Legacy.

I have searched on tirerack website and i found that they have KYB
and KONI shocks that fit the Legacy. They only have Eibach springs..

i was wondering if any of you have tried the KONI?? also, other than
the eibach springs, what springs would fit our car?

Ricky, I have adjustable KONI's on my '92 wagon (stock springs)... I
can't remember how much I paid for them, but they were quite
expensive, I veery pleased with them, though!

KONI is a good name is shocks, and actually you are getting struts. They may be a little harsher ride then the KYB's, are they adjustable? I know both KONI and KYB have adjustables. Don't know the model in KONI, but the KYB's are the AGX's. I know you can pick up a set of KYB GR2's (NON-adjustables) for around 70 a corner give or take.

As for the springs, I have heard mixed reviews about the Eibach springs, some say they are really harsh. H&R I believe also makes springs for our cars, I think there may be one more manufact, but I don't know. Intraxx does make springs for them...or used to...but you don't want them...their shit.

I am using the KYB AGX for my 92 Legacy turbo with stock spring. I
like this combination. The adjuster in front and rear are different,
it has 4 dial in front and 8 dial at rear. Right now I use 3 in front
and 6 in rear. I use this setting at the Winter rally last weekend
and few bump of them without and bottom the suspension, I like it and
it makes the ride comfortable!!
I got those shocks for $800 Cad a set of 4, I did think it was a good
choice with the stock spring!!

Are these the Tein Coilovers u are running?? Which "Type" would it
be??? and are they designed for use on the legacy or actually they
are designed for use in the Impreza but it fits the legacy.

I have several friends that use Koni shocks for Autocrossing, but none of
them drive subarus. From what i've heard the customer Service at Koni is
terrific.

i'm pretty sure GAB and H&R both make springs for our car as well (they make
'em for the 2nd gen, i know that).

You wanna know something funny or interesting I guess.

I saw a GAB strut. EXACT same housing as the KYB, even did have some KYB stuff engraved in the bottom metal part of the strut. Now I'm sure the guts of the strut were different. Is one like parent company or something?

My understanding from the DSM camp is that KYB either owns or just
makes shocks/struts for GAB, which are essentially revalved KYB
units, FWIW.

They are the HR type. I have them set for full hard and quite raised up for
rally. They are quite stiff on the street due to the fact I am not running
the helper springs. They come with about 100 lbs springs to take the minor
bumps.
