Water leak inside driver door .

I searched and found the same problem by 3 other member but none had an answer.
I have a 94 L auto without sunroof. Best reliable car I ever had but know is showing its 14 years and almost 160,000 mile.
How do I take out the black roof trim? Is there any drain behind it?

Not really it just drains along the rails. Where exactly is your water leak?

Yeah are you saying water is pouring in around the window? Be more specific!!!

I drips from above the door. It is not from the seal that forms the glass of the window and the weather strip.

Thats odd. Look at the weather stripping if it looks like the window is sealing tight. Get a hose spray the area see exactly wheel the leak it. Might be the metal piece that holds the seal. There is a rubber pads behind it, so try making the screws more tight. I once had that issue but it was because of someone who replaced my windshield didn't put the screws in the correct holes so the seal was not tight. If you pull out the seal from the metal piece you will start seeing what I am talking about.

after reading your post I understand what you are asking now.

Mine had the same problem, The leak is coming in between the trim and the body because Subaru used a cheap foam sealing tape that dries out and crumbles.

You need to CAREFULLY remove the weatherstrip seal. It pulls out of the track around the window, then has screws at various places (can't remember exactly where), just work slowly. Then unscrew the trim plate, then unscrew the black trim plate, once you have all the screws out CAREFULLY pop the clips along the windshield loose. I laid in a bead of RTV (you could probably use window sealant) after I scraped the foam seal off, then put everything back together again. It took me 3 tries to get it totally sealed, but has not leaked since (2 years).

Thanks this is what I was looking for. I knew I had to remove the trim and the black trim plate but didn't knew were to start and wanted to know if there was anything that needed to replace and I wasn't able to get, leaving it unusable while getting it.
