1992 Legacy Sport with problems. I'm lost!!!
Ok so here is the deal. I got this car for free and ever since I have had it I have had one problem after another. But anyways I really like this car and don't want to kick it to the side. Ok so here is the problem when at idle it miss's now this is in park. Now when it is in drive with my foot on the brake it really miss's. Now when I try to go WOT it has a slow responce and you can hear popping sounds. Now I have checked the coil pack and on the prime side at both terminals 1 to 2 and 3 to 4 I got 14.50 ohms on both. Now on the secondary side I got 0.9 ohms could this coil pack be bad?
Thanks for your time

Check all four plugs, then depending on their condition put new plugs and wires on it. I agree with not wanting to kick it to the side. I own two 1991 LSS one auto, one 5-speed, and I love both of them equally. The auto has a nice rear bias and simplicity for winter-time drifting, and the stick is a rally machine. Its funny though because none of my friends can believe that I would buy two of the same cars, even though they cost me around 500 each.
Kickin' it old-school.

What you're describing sounds like the Mass Air Flow Sensor is malfunctioning. You should see if replacing it with a known good one fixes the problem.

About MAF sensor
Ok so I checked the MAF today and the screen and the hot wires were covered in some nice black stuff. So I cleaned them off and its not popping or hesatating under WOT. So should I get a new MAF when I get the money?

When you get a used car for free!!!
LOL ok people I kind of feel dumb for this but guess what I found out today? OK so anyways I was replacing the easy stuff today pcv, fuel filter, air filter. and anyways when I took the fuel filter off I decide to blow in it just for the hell of it. So when I did this guess what came out? Yes of course fuel came out but not clear fuel. The fuel was so dark it was sad talk about feeling dumb. Man I over think things and need to be slapped lol. Oh well at least I cleaned the MAF and fixed the split wire's on the TPS. Well anyways thanks for all your help lol Legacy's are great cars to put up with abuse

And Also!!!
does anyone now how different the 90's harness is form the 92 harness?
Unless you want to buy a complete new harness (big bucks!), you'll just have to cut off the old, go to a junk yard and fine some good connectors/wires, and solder them on to your harness. Subaru doesn't let you buy just connectors on the harness (I tried this summer).
I had to do the exact same thing this summer, since my cam/crank sensor wires were brittle and broke.

Yeah I know I went to subaru already it $400.00 dollars for the harness under the intake. I did find a 90's harness but I don't know if there is a differnce in 92 and 90?

If you have a turbo legacy, you must use a turbo legacy engine harness. The connectors behind the battery are different.
The t-leg's use a 3-plug connector. The 90-91's use a 3-plug connector, but they're all square, and the 92-94 n/a's use a 2-plug connector.
If you have one wire that you have issues with, just cut it off, and solder a new wire in.....pretty easy.
At most, you'll have to take the harness off the intake manifold, take the electrical tape off, and put everything back together.
