Finished some upgrades and a few codes now
Ok,
Got my TD05-16g installed with a Perrin DP and full custom exhaust 3", Also installed is a 06 WRX TMIC. I have a boost gauge as well.
So before install no codes.
After install No power above 3000 and the following codes, 22, 45, 49
I have the turbo setup on wastegate boost right now, so the compressor is connected to the wastegate. Boost gauges shows about 8 psi if I put my foot to the floor, but still is 0 power.
I have the two hoses that normally goto the compressor and the wastegate, looped. Otherwise everything else is as it should be.
I do have a relocated coolant tank, but that shouldn't (???) make a difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you connected all the elctrical connections properly?
Is the MAP sensor hooked up to the intake manifold.
Have you tried clearing the codes, driving the car, and seeing what comes back?

gonna try clearing the codes today, (tough finding the other green connector) Otherwise all electrical is hooked up right. I double checked all that.
I also tried plugging in the boost controller like the factory had it and it spiked PSI up to 15 at one point, so I switched back to compressor ---> wastegate, to get it safe for now.
I don't think I ever disconnected the map sensor, I did switch in a new coil pack, also where is the Knock sensor located, I have looked/searched for it.
Also your site had been great assistance to me!!

Hmmm....the stock boost controller will work. I ran with the stock boost solenoid on my TD05-16G swap for a while.
I wonder if you hoses were off from the get go. I'd suggest checking your hose connections against this.

All the pressure exchange solenoid does is switch between the MAP sensor and atmosphere to get a barometric reading. I wouldn't think the pressure exchange solenoid could cause boost spikes.

ok reset codes and only one now is 22, so knock sensor, which is ok ill replace that, I know from reading it can cause hesitation which is what it was doing, Im running waste gate boost (9psi) and it moves to 6-7psi real fast at 3100 and then is very slow to move past that, so I suspect its pulling timing, it is also gives a burning smell when I get on it hard right now so I obviously will stay out of it till then, but is there any concern if I baby it (off boost and below 3K) right now with the knock acting up?

My friend, "92whitelegacy" put pretty much the same set-up in his car. I remember him having problems too. I think all it was, was a leaking intercooler hose. I don't remember if it caused a knock sensor code or not though.

Ok replaced coil pack and wires with originals that where working fine, and still a code 22, so I ordered a new KS from subaruparts.com
Ill check the intercooler hose, but I do make 8-9 psi on my boost gauge which was accurate before the swap, but it also does sound like a leak, but I can't tell, ill check that too, how can I tell if it's a leaking intercooler or the piping?
Thanks for all the help so far.

Ok so I drove to and from dinner tonight, and within 1 min on the way, the check engine light came on and the car was as it has been, but on thew way home tonight, it didn't come on till about a minute before home (10 min no problems). So I am suspecting charge piping, the pre turbo piping I know is all good and snuggle, but I can def hear more noise post turbo so I will have to check over that as well. I still plan to replace the KS as well as the car is mostly original until I get to it.
Just wanted to provide an update to all who have been helping, itll be nice to get it running right, so I can keep modding

ok so I drove around all day today, and no code is coming up, car runs fine except definate lag when trying to make boost and whistling, so Im definately suspect of a leak post turbo, Ill be going over that when I get a few minutes, otherwise no codes.
Could a coil pack and plug wires cause issues with the KS module?
Thanks all for the help, it's nice to have it back on the road and almost running right.
