Rust Tips?

Post by Woody9101 »

I just got my grandmas legacy off her hands. the front quarter panels have rust on them, and on the drivers side one the bottom by the mud flap is like gone. thats easy for me, just get new ones. but what I want to ask is tips on how to the rust spots disappear? like what do you guys do to stop the rust and make that spot good as new?

In the winter time get the car washed weekly so the salt gets washed out. Just get a sander and sand the area. Go to a local parts store and buy the same colour spray paint as your car and some primer should look good as new don't forget to mask off the area.

Replace metal when possible. When not: grind rust until metal is shiny or use rust converter as a last resort when you can't or to coat cavities like inside door sills. Spray metal with zinc galvanizing spray (electrical supply), body fill where necessary, prime, paint.
