How much did you pay for your apex-i? I am looking at getting one for my
rally legacy.

ack! Mark! If you're building a rally car, i wouldn't recommend using those
piggy-back kinds of mods.
A) they might fly off and become projectiles inside the car.
B) for the price of a S-AFC and a AVC-R you can buy a standalone engine
management system.
Unless you're just going to be doing TSD rallies, then you're okay.

I don't have one, but at the risk of sounding like a jerk, i'm curious why
you bought the unit if you don't know how to use it. ;-P
also, i hear that it's possible to use that unit to lean it out a tad
specifically in 5th gear for better gas milage on the freeway. that true?
I've never used the unit before.

setting up an APEX-i S-afc
Jason,
That is true.
I know people that go from getting 20-22mpg on the
freeway <over powering fuel pump> to 30 with the addition of the sAFC. The
biggest drawback is that the sAFC increases/decreases fuel based on throttle
%'s and what you really need is something that changes fuel based on
pressure in the intake manifold or air through the MAS. IE: Say you run
20psi on the street, but in 1st gear all you do is spin tyres. SO you turn
down the boost to 10psi. Now your going to have too much fuel because the
sAFC corrects for the WOTG, but not for half the boost pressure. Oh well,
it works...
