I'm not much help, informationally. I have found decent prices on Walbro fuel pumps on ebay, however.
But I must say, sweet car
! Post more pics of that cherry ride!

I believe you can get an inline fuel pump sized to fit (IIRC, it's an inline pump). I'd replace the lines, too as you're going low pressure carb to higher pressure FI. Won't the stock gauge cluster be inadequate with the Joan Claybrook special spedo? I would think it would be easiest to get a complete engine harness and dash harness and cull everything but the engine stuff. I don't know what the ECU needs as far as interacting with the gauges, but the original gauges should be mechanical and could operate separately from the ECU if you keep the transmission. Bigger tires would make the spedo inaccurate anywayy. I'd personally swap the gauge panel out with a piece of aluminum and mount some aftermarket units in it. Being in the stock place, it wouldn't be too obviously different and the numbers would actually go to a useful limit. I know stock, the EA81 could get the heavier wagons and sedans to the 'P' in MPH.
No other advice, but this is similar to what I'd like to do if I could find an '84 hardtop (though regular EJ22). What, maybe 2200-2300 lbs. when it's done? Should be insane. Are you going 5-lug conversion? You'll need bigger brakes.

i cant wait till its done!!! between the weight of my legacy wagon and this car is just shy of a 1000lbs! cant remember what the exact weights are.. ive got a huge tabletop just awaiting for me!! more pics for sure! what are the details to do a 5lug swap? i was planing on doing the 6lug conversion but that wouldnt give me bigger brakes.. i really want to have toyota axles and coilovers sooner or later.. (another huge job!) anywhere after 85 mph is just more fun!! i need to stop, not too concerned how fast im going!!

From my shallow research, you can convert to XT hubs, I believe and get the bolt pattern that allows the same brakes and wheels as the Legacy. I'm not sure how the axles are handled. So this is going to be an offroad tank? 6-lugs would probably be better for that.

If you're curious, I made a calculator for acceleration time and g forces for each gear and I could even plot acceleration and g's by power/weight for a given rpm in a given gear if you have a dyno plot of mods similar to what you'll have for better accuracy, though it's not completely necessary to go that far. I did this for the car I'm designing and plugged in some known reference cars and it's pretty accurate to 80, in the ballpark up to 100 mph, but not believable beyond (I can't check it as 0-100+ numbers aren't commonly taken).
At the least I'd need best guestimate HP and torque and gear ratios with final drive. Weight I can guess.

sounds very interesting!! is that a unit that runs in your car? how big? pics? ive always ondered if a guy like you could build a electrical unit and have it run on my kenwood tv? gauges? air fuel ratio? boost control? im probably asking for too much but it sure would be cool to have my tv deck running some of the info i want and need and i would pay!!!

No, it's just a nerd calculator in Excel. It's pretty accurate, but it's still armchair racing. It gets more interesting when you have a dyno chart to reference for different gear acceleration in g's, ft/sec/sec, and time to speed. I plotted an LS6 from a Vette for shits and anyone who talks trash about it being a pushrod engine is dumber than the cushions I'm farting into on this couch. That thing makes over 300 lbs/ft @ the wheels from 2k and almost as much WHP as the S2000 at 3k.
I'm using a Honda S2000 drivetrain matched to a Goldwing rear end which is a much taller final drive so I was trying to figure out if I would make enough power to still haul ass, yet still be able to shoot for the 50+ mpg I want. It should hit about 84 in 1st and hit 60 in 4.5 secs. with me overestimating fully loaded weight including me and using whp and wtorque numbers. That's with the 2.83 rear end, there's a 3.09 also.
My only other question (besides engineering issues I can't resolve until I actually have a crashed S2000 to look at) is if this engine will blow the rear end apart, but I can't find anything about Goldwing rear end problems even in an article about a turboed one, but those performance mod guys never seem to mention 'minor' shit like blown trannys and stuff. "Dude, it's got 350 HP!" (that it can only use for a week before it blows the rear end out and leaves you calling a tow truck).

Nice articulation on that Hi-Lux!!!
You can use a VW fuel pump from a fuel injected car (Vanagon, late Beetle, Rabbit, etc.) Bosch in-line, not-in-tank pump, plenty of pressure for a Subie motor, and dirt cheap on Ebay.
Buy a used one, run it backwards and forwards a few times immersed in diesel or kerosene, it will last forever.
