Wiring help needed, EJ22T

Post by Hondasucks »

Well, I found out why my bastardized non-turbo motor wouldn't run right, and why my EJ22T won't fire at all... Someone cut the knock sensor and cam/crank position sensor wiring! This is a picture of what I have in the car.. I got the connectors from the junkyard and the stuff to splice them in, unfortunately the color code is the same on both connectors, so it's not going to be a simple match-the-colors like I thought it was going to be... I also don't have a legacy wiring diagram :-( Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the KS wiring worked out, I just need help with the cam/crank sensor wiring.

Theres a link to the FSM somewhere here. Try the 'stuff you need to know' forum.
I wish I could provide better help than that. You could always check for continuity between the connecter end and the ECU end. Using a ECU pinout of course...which is also linked to here. Somewhere.
I'll stop now.

I realize it's not the greatest pic, but I happen to have a crappy pic of my crank/cam sensors. Yes, those damn brittle wires broke on some back-ass country road and I had to go McGyver on it to to drive home. Afterwards, I went to the junk yard, whacked off new connectors/wires and soldered them on.

At least you can get a sense what the faded colors for one sensor is.

Well, I found the wiring diagrams Josh had linked, and I probed the ECU connector and got nothing, so I was like WTF.. Then I discovered that I was probing the TCU, and found the ECU buried up under the dash :-P, so I probed the connector on it, found the right wiring for the cam sensor, and it's all wired up now :-) I just need to get some more of the heat shrink butt splice connectors cuz I need one more for the ground on the crank sensor wiring, and two for the knock sensor, since it's not hooked up yet
