yeah. It was scary to make the first cut. I got over it once it was made, and sparks, and smoke were flying. I thank dropdfocus for the inspiration.

I have the same scoop i wanna put on my wagon, but I dont want to hack up a perfectly good turbo hood to do it.

Any tips you can share durring your experience would be great. Did you bolt the scoop to the hood or what?

Car looks great BTW!

Thanks again :D pull the old scoop/diverter out, lay masking tape down larger than the new scoop, put the scoop on the hood to trace around where you want it to be. note where the mounting studs contact the hood, and make tabs for later mounting the scoop. cut approx 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch inside the traced line for the edges of the scoop to contact. with the remaining tabs, take some "duckbill" vise grips, and bend the tabs down flush with the traced line that you have already cut. rebend the tabs back but about 1/4 further down back even with the hood, so it looks like a step down. then take some white out. dab the tips of the mounting studs with it to mark where you want to drill the holes on the tabs. set the scoop down where you want it to be, pull it up, and you should see where to drill. I don't remember what size, but just measure the mounting stud thickness. bolt on and go. I hope it helps. I will post a pic of it mounted sometime.

Nice!

How about a close up of just the hoodscoop how it lays on top without being 1) riveted down 2) bondo'ed down. Looks like that might be the way to do it. Are you going to add a diverter/splitter later?

Also, what kind of suspension are your running? Coilovers?

Good stuff! Cheers!!

I'll take a close pic tomorrow. no splitter.....I like having the full force cooling the combination of turbo/engine, and soon to come intercooler. Also, it has Eibach sportlines.

Thanks! That's very cool. I don't think I've ever been "inspiration" for someone before. :-D

Of course shortly after I cut up the hood on my car I decided to balls-out and pick up a larger turbo & utilize the front mount intercooler. So it was pretty much for nothing, but that's when I was staying with the TMIC. If someone is looking to do the same thing as shtbxr22, I'm selling my WRX scoop & diverter in the For Sale section.

What did you use to get that much drop? Major camber issues?

Like the scoop, looks really good. Clean car!

Thanks, it has Eibach sportlines. camber is ok. it handles great. tires show no ill effects for wear.

Nice! I still might get mine bondoed and blended in but before I spend the $$ might have it like that for a good while. Thanks for posting.
