I call it the blue legacy simply to differentiate it from my other white legacy, its still mostly white :P Ive got to saw off the roof and do some other stuff before I finish the paint job. It is the same one from WCSS8. The engine is assembled and ready to go into the car, just waiting on an engine crane.

Thanks for the comments guys, I really love this car. But its making me more anxious to see what the monster is gonna be like...

The 13T legacy was fun... the 16G legacy is the bees tits... 20G legacy RS-RA? I get wet at night dreaming about it

btw I forgot to mention, this ones also running Delta cams

Hey welcome back mang...

On the sunroof delete issue: I'd like to do the same to mine. Get rid of 100 lbs + of weight. Did you ever look into getting a panel fabed up (with gasketing) to fill the hole where the glass lies? I/o roof replace?...

Cheers!

Ah, I want my car to show too...So I'll make the panel carbon fiber! <grin>

Sounds amazing. You should chop it down a bit too while you're at it...ha, ha!

Wow, that's heavy! The dead-reliable and cheap aftermarket pop-out I put in is pretty damn light.

Actually probably more like 40 lbs. Big frame and motor system to delete. Got any pics of your set up? I can picture it in my mind but...

Dont saw off the roof, just drill out the spot welds on both cars and replace the roof. I think there is like 30 spotwelds done each roof gutter. Its the "best" way :)

I spent a long time discussing it with the body man at my work, he's been doing stuff like this for 30 odd years, mostly muscle cars and classic roadsters

If I chop off the roof, there's only 6 welds and they'll all be covered by trim.

Basically you saw off the roof of both cars, pinch the roof side of the pillars and drill a hole in the car side of the pillars, slide the roof into the pillars, plugweld through the hole, and you're done. Almost as strong as the original structure, which doesnt matter because it's getting caged anyway.

Oh, I guess if your an experienced welder its not so bad then. Welding in spot welds is easy for someone the hasnt welded much.
You could do what I did, buy a Legacy L and swap everything over. Still lots of work though.

i was just about to say that too. it is how VT sportscar and most cage builders put the cages into their rally cars.

i guess his way will work too. but to me it sounds like too much of a chance of getting the roof misaligned.
