this mrt system is the one i have fitted to my 92 RS Liberty Turbo, along
with the rest of the 3" s/steel system (bar the rear muffler, i used one ex

section, as original, where the O2 senser is...........

Chris Bresnehan

Exhaust/mrt

Post by Chris Bresnehan »

Hi All,

I also have a full MRT 3inch s/steel system fitted to my 93 Liberty
RS Turbo and have to agree with Rod that is an excellent well designed
system and fitted perfectly.
I opted for the system with the centre muffler so noise is not that
much of a problem compared to a couple of friends of mine who have a BPM GT
system and an AVO system on their WRX's.

My only probelm now is the factory fuel cut at 1bar as the turbo
spools up much quicker and produces boost easier especially when combined
with the mods I have already done. Hopefully an aftermarket ECU should fix
this problem plus extract a bit more power.

Cheers

Chris

Yes i do have the centre resonator muffler.
It sounds nice, though i did remove the rear muffler and used a std wrx
one.......... now it's as quiet as std, with the performance ............
from all investigations, emails etc, the mrt system, with single outlet, is
one of the quietest systems on the market. Be aware though, it still has a
slight droning in the car. If you always have the stereo at a good level,
you probably won't notice it.
I use the car for a lot of long journey's and after a couple of hours it
becomes a pain, around town, easy to put up with.

by 'back box' what do you mean?
what is a 'P1' back box? ? rear muffler?
if so, you will need to purchase the adaptor plate from mrt. ($20)
my local exhaust shop then made a new piece of pipe from the end of the mrt
centre pipe flange, to the wrx muffler .
i asked the exhaust shop if they wanted to use the original pipe that is on
the wrx muffler and he informed me that it's easier for him to cut the old
pipe off at the muffler and make a new, larger dia, pipe welded to the
muffler on one end and the mrt flange welded to the other end.
it bolts together beautifuly.
my car is a sedan.........doesn't matter as they make up a new pipe.........
