Rattle when not on the gas...

Post by Fkyx »

Alright. So I searched for "idle rattle" and didn't find anything that matches my situation. When I turn the car on and let it idle, there's a pretty audible rattle coming from the vicinity of the cat. When I rev the engine, even the most minimal amounts (up to 2k), it stops until I let off the gas, then it continues to rattle. I also noticed it rattles a little bit when you let off the gas while driving.

I just wanted to know if it's most likely the cat or whether it could be something else not exhaust related.

Heat shield. Remove or clamp tight with stainless band clamps.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

Thanks guys. I'll check it out when I get home tomorrow. Got a long drive ahead of me on some brand new snow rubbers.
