Anyone interested in buying my '91 SS?

Got something for sale? Need to sell a part? Got some stuff on auction that you want to let us know about?

Anyone interested in buying my '91 SS?

Post by Matt Monson »

I'm bored and am thinking about selling my car. I want the money to put into my other projects. What I have is a 2nd owner 173k mi '91 SS 5MT w/factory rear LSD. I installed a 65k mi 1995 Ej20G into it about 1000 mi ago. It made 170whp on a dyno where stock 2.0l WRX's put down 155-160, so let's just call it 240chp. It's got a brand new Exedy stage II clutch kit connecting engine to tranny.

It has factory Bilstein coilovers from a 95 BD chassis on it. 20mm Whiteline rear swaybar. Whitline steering rack bushings with a WRX steering rack. It rides on 16x7" 2.5RS 6 spoke wheels, with rubber that is shot. STi front strut tower bar. This car drives like it's on rails. I took it to the track in Sept and it was a lot more fun than my RS ever was.

The driver's door got backed into a while back and has a real nice dent right in the middle of the doorhandle. I have a spare door that goes with the car. It will need to be painted black like the car, though IMO the whole car is due for paint. It was just at the end of my list when I got the car totally dialed. The sunroof is cracked (surprise!) and I have a complete assembly to replace it that also comes with the car. As does a GC hood scoop that I have yet to install.

I've spent about $4500 on the car since I bought it a year ago, including the purchase price. Anyone who knows me, knows I spare no expense on parts and do all my own labor. My price is $3000 firm. If you low ball me or are a joker, I will just ignore you. This car is like a family member and I am not in a position where I have to sell. Like I did with my RS, I will care more about the home it goes to than the actual selling price I get for it.

I will shoot pictures over the weekend after the next snow passes and I can clean her up and make her presentable...

If you were closer to my area, I would send a friend your way. Then again... his dad doesn't want him to buy a car until we're done with college. >_<

Such a great car. My favorite year, and I know it's been built properly. Oh well...

If anyone wants to fly in to buy it, I will knock 50% of the plane ticket price off of the price of the car...

bump for Monday.

I picked up some rubber this weekend. It's nothing special, but the car will now be delivered with a set of RE92's on it with reasonable life left. I just didn't feel right about selling a car in the dead of winter with bald Kimho 712's on it.

Keep dreaming there cowboy! I am going to be buried in those seats. Both of them. Actually, they are going into the wife's RS.

On the strut bar, it's a GC strut bar and clears the early slanty intercooler with no problem. I don't think it would clear the intercooler on an Ej22T...
