Jamie Lynn Spears pregnant at 16? Discuss.

Post by Fkyx »

Brit's little sister is pregnant, and she's only 16.

What do you guys (and ladies if you're out there) thing about our younger generations? It seems to me like they're moving way too fast. Despite the fact that my sister was pregnant with her daughter at the same age, there's just something wrong with a pop culture star, who had a disney show and everything, to be "setting" the example whether it was intentional or not.

Thoughts?

I better keep my thoughts to myself on this one......as the ripple effect of this topic is a much larger issue then just the younger generation.....

What sucks is that a few retards get soo much bad publicity for our generation...

In reality our generation is no worse than any of yours, there is just more exposure.

Make sense?

I'm not trying to say that "your generation" is worse. It's a pretty obvious trend that every new generation is "growing" or "maturing" faster than the previous. I was doing things at age 15 that my dad hadn't had a chance to do until he was 20 something.

I guess my real question is whether or not this is something society should allow to continue. It goes deeper than this Jamie Lynn ordeal. That's just what got me thinking about this. I think we can answer this without bitter statements about people and whatnot.

I don't see any reason she shouldn't have a child depending on how responsible she is and if she has the means to take care of it.

I think everyone should be surgically implanted with a sterilizing apparatus at birth, which will only be removed by passing psychological tests and financial qualifications. I would fail and that's fine with me.

as in...tying their tubes? lol. if they can do that in a 40 year old man, i see no reason they can't in someone younger. the only problem i would see is people would be like "yay no condom for us!!" and then everyone would have std's out the ass. ha.

Wow, this has just jumped to the top of my every lengthening "Who gives a shit" list.

The world must have better things for us to spend our collective mental capacity on... like what happens to all the left socks you loose in the laundry. :?

How the heck can you tell a sock is a left one?

Gaahhh! I can't believe you made me waste mental capacity on that. lol

STD's are everywhere anyway because many people operate at the level of animals. This would just take care of the worst STD - kids. It wouldn't be tying tubes, it would be an as-yet unmade device. Someone needs to come up with it - I can't do everything.

But a problem I see is a possible thriving black market of device removal and then you run into issues of penalizing people and that gets difficult.

lol... well maybe this wasn't the appropriate community to post it in. I was hoping for some sort of intelligent, maybe philosophical discussion on what's going on between generations. I guess that's just not something Leg owners think about. :P

People are people. My problem with them is that they don't change. The only real difference is one of perception. In the old days the "Greatest Generation" would have hushed up the whole thing and sent her away "to school" while her mother pretended to be pregnant. Then they'd bring their daughter back after having the baby and make it out like the grandmother was its mother. But she's rich, so they'd probably just have sent her somewhere where she could get a (then) illegal abortion.

hmmm this topic is quite touchy.

I need to see pics first. If she is like, totally fucking hot then I might approve, even at 16. Otherwise...

Desperate Housewives much?

As for the other? I'd hit it and obviously someone else felt the same way.

But seriousy, if she's too stupid to protect herself, then she's going to get pregnant, just like dog only know how many other 16 year olds in this country do this year. The real difference between our country and say, Africa? is that in Africa, she'd be married by 16 and on her 2nd or 3rd alread. We have a self imposed idea that 18=adult. It doesn't. Adult historically has meant menstration. It's only been in more modern time that we have tried to impose this artificial date where suddenly people are adult enough to make their own decisions. Hell, we tell people they can vote and fuck and many other adult things at 18 but they still aren't mature enough to drink liquor until they are 21? It's all a bunch of silly shit as far as I am concerned. People in this nation have choosen to be immature and this is the result. I personally don't give a damn about this stupid girl.

I care more about the 16 year old girl who was raped and got pregnant and keeps the baby because her beliefs don't allow her to get an abortion. Now that girl gets my compassion and sympathy...

Desperate Housewives? I've never watched it so I don't get it. It was relatively common prior to the '60's for people to send away pregnant minors, sometimes putting the baby up for adoption at the end instead of the grandmother raising it as her own.

I would wake up everyday like it's a Wonderful frickin' Life if I could kill rapists everyday without fear of prosecution. It's my idea of the impossible dream. Some people pray for world peace, but I realize how boring that would be and counter to growth for the human species. I pray for the freedom to waste scumbags with impunity. I'll buy the bullets and even clean up the scene afterwards. Everything I'd take from the dead douche would be donated to a rape survivor charity (after paying for my gas).

Steve,
The Desperate Hoisewives comment was in reference to the current storyline of the show. One of the snotty bitch characters has been hiding her daughter's teen pregnancy. I only know this because my wife watches the worthless show every week. That show glamorizes and dramatizes everything that I despise about our society. I sit there talking shit about it hoping one day my wife will get it and turn it off! I know it's not the most mature approach but I truly feel that it's the most worthless show on television.

It looked terrible enough for me to never bother watching it. I avoid TV mostly, especially the networks, but there are some programs on History and Discovery that I like.
