Yeah, the Yaris is huge inside. I think the rear passengers in a Yaris actually have more room than the rear passengers in my car.

In my experience, the gauges-in-the-center thing isn't a big deal if it's your own car. You get used to it after just a few hours of driving, and stop looking in the "wrong" place. I don't know if I'd agree it's better than having them in front of the driver, though. I bet they did it just so there'd be one fewer thing to redesign for LHD, thereby reducing costs.

$11 grand for a brand new Toyota. Dag. The Fit's really cheap too, though, right?

I totally agree with what you say about Honda staying true to its history.

So, when are you going to turbocharge your new Fit?

My "stratos blue" Mazda is a little purple as well. It's not a bad color, but I found out it's almost as bad as black to keep clean. Especially for me as I don't bother keeping my cars that clean.

I could make another big humongous post, but suffice it to say that I know 100% for sure I made the right decision. This is the car I was looking for.

The color... I like it, and am not ashamed in the slightest bit to be driving around in a purple car, as it doesn't really look like a feminine color to me. Ultimately, I would have preferred the silver, but they didn't have one in a 5spd. Plus, this one had the lowest amount of miles on it (took delivery at 11.8 miles), and that means I can break the engine in how I want to.

So... this is what it feels like. To just get in the car, start it, pop a CD in, and drive away without a care in the world. I understand Patti has been extremely reliable, but now with 182k miles, the possibility still crossed my mind. Now I have nothing to worry about, and even if something does go wrong, I have that dirty "W" word.

It's an amazing feeling.

But seriously, I was watching a commercial for the go green or whatever, and it said the fit gets 30mpg, civic 33mpg, and civic hybrid 40 mpg, or something. Why does the fit suck with mpg? Or did the mess up the commercial?

Congrats on the new car, and graduating, and whatever else is new.

Fit gets 28/34. The Civic indeed does get better highway mileage at 36, but I'm not too crazy about the Civic. Interior is too weird, and this is coming from a previous XT owner!

Dude, my XT gets better mpg than your fit, and its turbo!

I don't Gmail. I leave yahoo on all the time, and occasionally pop onto AIM, not long though.

How do you drive the XT?

Not to brag, but I will no doubt get at least the EPA rating, and I actually kinda expect to maybe get slightly better. I can get better than the EPA ratings in Patti, and she's old. I think I've learned the tricks to getting better gas mileage.

I currently have 116 miles on it (I went for a drive last night), and I've only used slightly more than a quarter tank. And the tank is only 10.8 gallons. That's impressive. Patti would struggle to get more than 80 miles out of a quarter tank.

I drive the speed limit. 35, 40, 45, 50, 65, 70, whatever it is I drive the speed limit. I can get 35 mpg freeway and 26 city. I usually average out to 29mpg daily driving. I'm sure if I never hit boost I could up that. Or if I did a tune up!

What did you used to get from Ginger?

I don't honestly remember what I used to get from Ginger. I wanna say it was somewhere around high 20s to 30.

My friend came by with his digicam today, so I got hi-rez pics now:

I'm liking it more and more as I drive it... I'm up to almost 300 miles already! Probably gonna fill up Monday, so I get to see what kinda mileage I'm getting.

I thought you were supposed to buy his car like eight years ago?

The real question is, how gay am I for knowing him just by seeing 5% of his car?

Gayer than I am for driving a purple Fit and talking about how much I love driving it

As for his car, no thanks.

He's a very good friend of mine, and he's an AMAZING driver. But he's no tuning expert. I'm by no means one myself, but some of the stuff he does makes even me cringe.

Like running a 25-mile full rally (not a rallycross, a full staged rally) in the car, running at 11lbs with no intercooler, the CEL on for the CPV, and a known bad injector. He had to DNF the car because it started to overheat and run really shitty.

Luckily he didn't blow the headgaskets, but he decided to fix the problem... by buying ONE new injector.

So now he has one new injector and three old clogged-up ones.

thats nice looking, in the first pic i thought it was a van, but its small, not a wagon, or a hatchback really, i dont know what the hell to call it.
you should get some pics of the interior, i havent really seen to many of the newer Hondas up close.

i bet youll get a little better than what its rated, thats always been my experience, hell my Legacy is rated for 18/23mpg, but running WOT all day wont get you less than 24mpg, i get 30+ on the highway
