tapping EJ22T heads for Cyl Temp Sensor.

Post by scuzzy »

Need to know the best location you think would be to tap an EJ22T head (which one is important) for a cylinder head temp sensor; since our plug wells are deep the ones that go around the spark plug sensors won't work for me, so I need to do some shallow drilling (quarter inch at most is good)

The object is to not drill through anything, I just need to drill deep enough to run a tap into the spot and still have metal contact on the rear of the drilled area.

I'm thinking somewhere around Cyl 3, since I hear it has fueling/coolant issues - but I don't know what the best spot is on the head without running into a coolant or oil line, or messing up the rockers/camshafts.

your opinions/facts are greatly appreciated in this matter. thanks :)
