I haven't been spending nearly as much time around here as I used to since I acquired a project car. Figured some of you guys may be interested in it, so I thought I would post up.
The car is a 1983 Mazda RX-7 GSL. Is originally had the 1.1 liter 12A carbeurated rotary, but the previous owner said it had a massive oil leak. I intend to rebuild the motor (assuming none of the housing pieces are cracked) and use it in something else (Locost maybe...?). In its place is going to be a 1.3 liter twin-turbo 13B-REW motor from a JDM 3rd gen RX-7.
Needless to say, traction will be an issue. We intend to set it up for road racing.
We have only stripped most of the body down thus far. It need a good bit of body work, so it'll be a while before we get around to putting everything back together. Also, we are having a bit of a communications problem with the person we were going to be getting the motor from.
I'll post pics later if I remember.
My project car.

I used to campaign an 84 GSL-SE in Solo 2. Fun car, and it had traction issues with only an ignition upgrade and test pipe.

Awesome.
I kinda wish it was a GSL-SE, so I could have the bigger bearing hubs and more common bolt pattern.
I won't complain, though, since we got the car for free.

Got the old 12A pulled out today, and rebuilt the rear brakes.
The interior is all but completely stripped, and it's about time to sort through the wiring harness and get rid of the engine portion of the harness.
