Oh God, I saw this on the news

I was just flickering through and saw this picture of a Legacy Turbo with a blanket on it :( The Subaru they said had mechanical difficulties. I am thinking more likely the timing belt broke because it was overdue.

I am now wondering if this car will be parted out. I wouldn't want to go inside that's for sure I would just want the tranny, read LSD, and engine. I still can't believe it. The guy inside was probably killed because of whiplash.

:smt075 shame on you!
the Subaru community, let alone the Legacy community, has lost a member and all you can think about is if his transmission is still good.
by the looks of it the rear LSD is probably in pieces

There were more New Yorkers involved than Canadians.

Poor guy was probably waiting for a tow when he got rear ended.

The problem is clear here: "21-year-old driver and New York resident Niki Chan, stands charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death. She will appear in a Toronto court Monday morning." I believe that's a triple threat.

I do kind of like the wording at the end about not knowing why the car was pulled over, as if even a 17 year old Subaru having mechanical problems is difficult to conceive.

I am betting on the elderly driver was having a health problem, OR alternator died, OR timing belt was seriously overdue OR it ran out of gas.

Even though its 17 years old it is difficult to look at it as a mechanical difficulty. It's pretty rare you just hear a Legacy died, it usually starts small and the problem worsens or in some cases fixes itself.

You got that right, bro.
1. 21 yr-old driver
2. New York Resident
3. Nikki Chan.

'Nuff said...

I spend an inordinate amount of time dodging this particular demographic on my way to work thru lower Manhattan. And I'm not talking about little Italy.

There are actually four things about the driver, but I left myself some wiggle room for the sensitive types that may get offended (once in a great while I do that just to change things up).

I am always amazed at how many cookie cutter people fit their stereotype like a glove. I go out of my way to avoid anything that identifies me with my heritage's stereotype. Like, I'm part Indian, but I don't run around in deer skin waving a tomahawk, don't own a casino (unfortunately), and hardly drink; I'm part Greek, but don't plug sheep or little boys, don't have any particular issue with Turks, and don't own slaves (though I'd like to change that); I'm part German, but I hate overengineering, don't wear lederhosen, and have no issue with Jews; And I'm a white guy in general but I try my hardest not to be the Devil. Sometimes, though, it's just so much fun.

Truth.
At least he went out in a Subaru. That's more than a lot of people can ask for. And he got hit by an IS300, not so bad if you think about it.

Well, yeah... but the game is, you don't come right out and say it.
Passive-aggressive tip-toeing is the preferred mode of mud-slinging these days.

Stereotypes aren't something arbitrary; there's usually a reason for them.
