Got something for sale? Need to sell a part? Got some stuff on auction that you want to let us know about?

Question about interchangeability

Post by Dynamic Entry »

Sorry if this isn't an appropriate place to ask....

I have the opportunity to buy a 1990 Legacy for almost nothing

since I have a 92 SS 5MT and this one is just the L I am not sure if it will have many interchangeable parts

I assume this has been covered but I can't find it.....

Can anyone tell me if non powerplant stuff will cross-over (ie. oil pan, CV axles, interior trim etc)

Thanks
Andrew

The interior trim pieces will fit.

I believe I remember reading a post that said that the oil pans are not interchangeable though...

If you are getting it for "next to nothing" grab it, there are lots of parts that you can use! Some parts are exactly the same, some you can use in a pinch and other parts will not work at all. Even the oil pan can be used, some of the turbo pans have an extra baffle in it but it will fit.
The alt and a/c compressors are the same, the PS pump is close enough to use. The list of useable parts wil be as long as the un-useable parts list.
