Need computer help

Post by entirelyturbo »

My friend and I are trying to get his analog cassette camcorder to record onto my computer so we can upload videos.

We bought a USB video grabber that rigs up to his yellow and while A/V input wires and sends them into my mic and USB hookups. The grabber came with software too, but it sucks donkey ass. I tried for an hour to get it to work, and nothing. I can't get RealPlayer to recognize it, I don't want to spend $30 on Quicktime Pro, and my Windows Media Player won't work because I have bootleg XP Pro and the update for the latest Media Player requires genuine Windows.

Any suggestions on this? I'd like to get this up and going in the next couple days, so any prompt responses will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Try bootlet nero ultra 7 to convert vid to format you choose.

Or search www.download.com for a freeware solution.

XP Service Pack 2 has Windows Movie Maker. You can use that to capture the video from the camcorder and save it to a MPEG format.

Or http://www.isohunt.com and get Sony Vegas.

start by downloading the defilerpak codecs and media player classic. That will take care of any playback problems you have or might ever have.

Then maybe something like windows movie maker could do things you need. I don't think nero would help since it's a burning program (but worth having).
