will the 91-94 era ej22 swap in, using the sensors and such in the 95. will i need to used the heads from the 95, whats all interchangeable, and can i get a correct anser quickly. I also have leads on a cheap ej22 from a 92 so just gotta crunch the numbers

You should be just fine. The big thing is to use the intake manifold from the 95 to eliminate any issues with updated TPS sensors. Your cam, crank, knock sensors are interchangable. There are some internal differences between the engines, but nothing that will prevent this swap.

The only big thing I can think of is the exhaust manifold. Some of the 95's had a single exhaust port heads, so you may need to either swap the manifold or the heads.

Otherwise you should be fine. I have my spare EJ22E from my old 93' for when the one in my 96' OBW goes.

The early engine will swap right in as a complete longblock. Just use all of the sensors from the '95 along with the intake manifold. Worst case, you may need to find a dual exhaust port exhaust manifold from an early car. As was mentioned, '95 was a transitional year where some 2.2's had single port heads, but early production cars got the dual port heads...
