I pulled the hood fenders and bumper off of mine as Iw as painting it but all that really needs to be removed is the bumper... I didnt take the shell off or anything I took the 4 bolts out that hold the whole monster to the car (17mm I think?? but it was a month ago)
then I set that aside an dug out the trusty measure... I measured an found the center point were I then mounted the intercooler using the 2 mounting plates out of the bottem... I bolted it to the lower section that runs under the radiator (lower rad support)
I then measured to find the center of the metal bumper beam an cut just enough out of it using a grinder to mount my intercooler in there ( Its a big ass intercooler) so I also ended up cutting the ends of my fog light holes to get the pipeing in there...
after making sure everything cleared an that there were no rubbing issues I stuck the bumper back on an waited....
I ended up ordering a kit of mandral bent pipes off of ebay that contained
4- 90 degree mandral bent corners
2- 75 degree mandral bent corners (I used as 90's )
2 straight pipes
this kit was all aluminum and came with 16 decent couplers... or which 2 are right hand corners....
I did not have to take out my ABS unit however to avoid 1 extra right hand bend I placed my battery in the trunk...
the kit wasnt quite enough so I had to get 1 right hand peice from an exhaust shop and a peice of straight pipe
as far as going from the 1 inch turbo outlet to the 2.5" inch pipe I took a stock intake peice from a turbo Legacy at the junkyard and cut it in 2 mounting the 1" peice to the turbo (as stock) but twisting it up a bit and coupling the intercooler piping to the stock black peice ( not the greatest but it works and I dont see anything wrong with it)... as for attaching to the 3" throttle body I used the other half of the stock intake as another right hand bend and coupled the pipes to that ... ( I ran the throttle body pipe under the turbo one by twisting the turbo outlet pipe upwards)
I also had to take the black peice out of my scoop so to clear the pipes but IMHO it works well an no one notices it
the kit I used was found easily when searching intercooler pipe kit I bought it in 2.5" its made by revospec an will contain red couplers.... not expensive by any means around 100$ CAD shipped to my door an its not a great looking set up not that its bad but it wasnt the look I was going for ,on this I had a budget and including buying the car ,rims ,tires ,pads and everything ive done to it I only have 3200$ invested into the whole build
theres alot of pictures in hopes of making someones install a bit easyier
