im having two issues with mine, one is minor, the other is kinda
troublesome...

1: everytime i do a fast start or accellerate fast, the thing slides halfway
open... not a problem, but annoying cause it rattles over bumps (this is the
cover not the glas itself...)

2: dosent always want to open (the glass this time) OR close for that
matter... operation in general is ceased.... it was un able to be closed one
night, thank god it diddnt rain... i can hear the relay click, so im guessing
the relay and switches work... but for some reason, the glass wont slide....
then later it will be fine... i havent usaed it since that last incident..

any ideas?

I am also experiencing the problem with the sunroof only working when it
feels like it. There are no common conditions for when it doesn't work.
But when it does work the operation is smooth and quiet so I have trouble
beleiving that the motor is the problem. This also occurs with my power
mirrors (they only work when they want to). As far as worrying about it
raining, there is a manual overide on the sunroof, it is a small plug on
your roof above the back seat and all you need is a 5 metrix hex key that
you can buy at any hardware store. I had to learn this real fast a couple
of weeks ago.

it sounds like your problem might be a bad/intermittent ground or worn switch, or bad connection. the best way to find them is to always be ready to troubleshoot

. so you will have to drive around with it half torn apart so you can meter it right then and there when it's not working. a bit of a pain but it works

SO THAT'S WHERE IT IS, THE FIRST TIME THE SUNROOF FAILED I CALLED SUBARU AND
THEY TOLD ME IT SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE IN THE CAR BUT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHERE, I
LOOKED FOR HALF AN HOUR BEFORE GOING AND BUYING ONE. Oh well, my old hex
key set had been stolen in a recnet breakin anyways.
