I've seen these for sale a lot of places but am wondering if they really fit, since they say they are 'universal'? Anyone buy one of these and instal it?

for that price i would but mine works. And if all else fails and there adaptors don't work you can take the one off of your stock unit to meet up with the 1/4 panel
