Yeah....I get it.....I'm not overly impressed with it. I skim it.....when my subscription is up, I'm not sure if I'll renew it.
I'd like to send my car in, but I'd like to get everything up on my website what I've done, etc, etc.

Mine just expired. I'm debating weather to renew.
The rally coverage was nice, if not current. The writing left some to be desired.

I've subscribed since it started. I wanted to support it so a Subaru mag could exist. Now that it's popular I feel a little less inclined to.
They don't always have the best articles, but they have improved. It's still aimed at a lower technical knowledge level, but hey, it's not a trade journal.
I want to see some project cars that are less predictable. Or more Subaru info that isn't available from other sources. If you can find it on the interwebs why pay for it in a mag?
It was cool to win a bottle of gear oil at their meet.

I let mine expire for several reasons.
First off, MeanEditor (don't know his real name, but that's his handle on NASIOC), is a moron. I've gotten in arguments with him about some stuff, and he refuses to admit he's ever wrong about anything.
Second, I submitted my story into Reader's Rides when I had all 3 of my Subarus. But I guess owning 3 Subarus, working for a Subaru dealership, and having a (now ex)girlfriend with a Subaru, wasn't dedicated enough for them. However, every ditzy girl with gaudy pink shit all over her riced-out WRX won favor simply because she had a nice ass.
And yes, as beatersubi said, the writing isn't exactly something I'd consider scholarly work.
However, regardless of my complaints with the magazine, I mostly just let it expire because I have almost no interest anymore.

Oh, alright. I hear you, brother. I may be one of the first to sign up for one of those sex robots they're talking about us getting in twenty years or so. I can power her down and leave her in the closet when I don't need anything cleaned and I can program her to be mute or at least not talk about the trite and meaningless crap I have no patience for from real girls. And it wouldn't do drugs or open its legs for anyone that smiles at it. Or get old. Or fat.
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

I'd welcome it. Humans are weak and stupid something stronger and more logical should take their place.

I'm looking to get a "misanthrope" tag for my sig. It's a lot of effort.

Welp, I thought my subscription was out.
Just got the Feb/Mar issue today. It features the Subieclub 'world meet'. And where were the olny BC/BJ's in the US? Right here in the sunny northwest, thats where.
Anyone also a member of the BBS? And is it worth the price of membership?
Steve voices the ideals that we, as a society, need to embrace to ensure our mental, financial, and personal freedoms. Lest we become an army of gov't influenced pop-culture following zombies.
Except for the not reproducing part.

I appreciate the show of confidence.
I don't think EVERYBODY should stop reproducing (my sister's doing a decent job of raising my nephews and my ex does ok), just not so many stupid people or people who have kids to cover a hole in themselves that they need to learn how to fill themselves instead. Or people like me who are too self-absorbed and impatient (and just generally creeped-out and easily annoyed by kids. Perhaps I saw Children of The Corn too often when I was young, but then there's a whole chicken/egg thing with that as I don't think I liked kids prior). There are way too many people in the world and if we could just prevent the unwanted accidents, that would be a comfortable start.

Have you seen the movie Idocracy. If you can make it through the bad jokes it actually makes a good point.evolutionmovement wrote:I appreciate the show of confidence.

Yeah! The concept was spot-on... and really, we're not too far from that society right now. The pro-wrestler US president was the best gag.
