Strange noise and ABS light on.

Post by courtjesterclown »

So i was walkin back to my car tonight, and i hear this strange noise comin from under the hood. Mind you, earlier on in the day my ABS light had come on, but i just didnt have time to investigate it. I pop the hood, and it sounds like there is a buzzing noise coming from the block where all the hard brake lines go in on the front passenger side of the engine bay. I have no idea what the noise is, but its still humming and the ABS light is still on. ANy ideas?? I tried searching this, but wasnt sure what how to narrow it down.

You have a bad abs relay. If you searched to find out how to check what your ABS code is, you would see that it points to a relay. Which you can buy, and fix the problem. Take some initative.

my last maxima did that. killed the battery overnight. I ended up just disconnecting the power from the ABS and driving without.

Mine does this sometimes, I just pull the abs relay and put it right back in to kill the abs unit. It only happens like twice a month I will replace that relay someday...

You can also just simply disconnect the connector on the abs. With my car I just soaked the relay in contact cleaner and hit it a few times lol.
