I own a 1991 legacy sport turbo awaiting a water/air intercooler.
What should I get next shocks, springs and bushings (if I can get
that for around $400) or exhaust? I am also wondering wether to get
an electric or manual boost controller. Let me know what you think I
should do. Ian

If you're running stock suspension, the first and most noticeable
improvement for the car would indeed be new struts. KYB GR2 non-
adjustables can be had for ~$300 while the AGX can be had for just
under $400. The AGX are adjustable.
Springs are gonna be about $150, whiteline being the most popular
with those who don't want to loose too much ride height by using
springs meant for Imprezas.
Exhaust is gonna run $700-1000, so that's pretty much out there.
Manual boost controllers, like the Hallman, are nice when used with a
good gauge, but i've never second guessed my decision to have an Apex-
i AVC-R professionally installed. It's just incredibly good, and
looks cool

$350 what should I buy?
Ian,
personaly i would, and have gone:
-boost gauge
-short shift, for quicker gear changes
-air inlet mods - cheapest of the lot.
-a good full 3" exhaust....
{intercooler - std here in Aust}
-a chip... to increase boost. The new chip has remapped air/fuel ratios to
get the most out of the extra boost.
That's all i have done, though the list could go on forever...how much money
do you want to spend?........
regards, Rod...in Oz

that all depends on what route you want to take to ultimate performance.. I
believe that a good suspension is better to do 1st, that way you know where
your suspension's breaking point is before you max out the power..
my $0.02
