I hate kids too, and by kids, I mean not just little tikes, but people my own age as well.
Of course, I don't have the article, but because of all the 'self-importance' and 'self-loving' and 'self-sucking-off' garbage that Gen-Yers have been fed over the years in order to keep their delicate psyches protected... has simply caused them to be extremely lazy.
They feel they are vital to the world's survival, whether they do jack shit or not.
I think because I've been raised by my grandparents since I was 9, who believe that you're not worth a damn thing until you PROVE it, I've developed a strong sense of humility.
I think that is the cause behind my limited social development with people my own age. I see most Gen-Yers as spoiled little shits who feel like they deserve for the world to wipe their ass.
Unfortunately, it's also given me a little bit of a complex, as I never feel like I'm good enough essentially. I have a college degree, which means I have proven myself, and most people would be happy with that, but I feel like the one I just finished is worth nothing, and the next one I'm planning on will help, but not accomplish any lifetime goals either.
"Der Wahnsinn ist nur eine schmale Brücke/die Ufer sind Vernunft und Trieb"
The thing that I dont like is how parent are so delicate with their kids...
I mean WTF? Y'all want to talk about Gen-Yers being so bad... i ask you why? Why are "we" the way "we" are?
Because of parents.
Oh you have to be soo gentle so you dont hurt there self-esteem...
WTF? You get self-esteem by winning, by being the best, by earning it... Not by some idiot with a doctorate telling you that your worth something. You dont get it by telling them that there are NO winners.
I dont think that my generation is horrible, although there are its issues. But, ask why are there those issues? PARENTS
Stop holding their hands (I dont mean literally hold there hand, its good to be loving as any parent should.)
For example when there is an issue with a teacher. Let the kid deal with it. Let them fight it out. Then, once they litterally cant do anything else, take over and show them how its done to prepare them for the next time.
Enough with this bullshit of no winners and loser. Life is about winning, losing, and picking your battles.
When you want a promotion you have to WIN it...
When you get fired... You LOST.
Sorry, end of story.
When you need to smack a kid upside the head because he is actually being a little shit... By all means do it. I dont mean beat the ever lovin shit out of him. Just make it so he doesnt want to do it again.
Forget 'Grounding"... it never works. I was always to resouceful for that.
Good'ol follow through is a very important thing. When you say you are going to drag the kid out to the car because he is making an idiot out of himself in a restaurant... DO IT... Dont pussy out of it.
AND QUIT WITH THE FUCKING MEDICATION!!!!!
Sorry, but all little boys have ADHD or ADD or whatever the fuck it is...
Its unnecessary and kids have been and always will be hyper and have short attention spands.
You wonder why there are school shootings? Meds... They fuck you up.
So actually be a parent instead of a politically correct weiner who is afraid to actually parent.
No, i dont have first hand experience being a parent... But I have first hand experience being a kid. i know how we respond to things and why we do.
Although I can say a lot about my dad. A lot... I have to give him credit, if it werent for him and the manners he taught me and the way that he taught me to act... I wouldnt be who I am today.

Even though I am 20, I don't have this "holier than thou" attitude that seems to be the hot topic here. I would like to believe that I have a strong work ethic that was instilled in me by my dad. Even though I can say that I have a decent living by way of my dad having a good job, I am not handed everything I need. If I want something, I have to pay for it with my own money. So if I don't have the money for it, I can't get it. Unless said item is crucial to me, like pertaining to school or my car so that I can drive. Even then, it's not like the item is given to me. It's more like I am taking out a loan for it and am going to pay it back once I have completed my degree and have gotten a job out of college.
But I can see for the most part where everyone is coming from. I see younger people (younger than me) just be complete little a-holes all the time and to be honest it pisses me off as I can't really do anything about it. I could say something to one of these kids if I see them being an idiot, but that isn't going to do anything.

I definitely blame the parents and the society they built, not the kids - generations are all born with the same potential. Humans are hardwired to feel rewarded though hard work and these hippy or hippy-spawn parents think they're doing they're kids a favor by doing everything for them, but all they're doing is creating a someone that offers nothing to themselves or anyone else (except the pharmaceutical and psychiatric industries). It's not natural. Nature is a cruel force by modern interpretation, but how can nature be wrong? Is gravity wrong? Hippies can argue that they've become more enlightened than nature all they want, but even drugs and expensive trinkets can't take away the fact that they live in this dimension/world/universe and if they don't want to face it, that's fine, but they have a duty as parents to do their best to make sure their kids can.
Maybe they watched those nature shows and saw the mama bird chewing food for her young and think that's what is natural, but maybe they should've put the reefer down a little bit so they didn't sleep through the part where the stronger young push the weak out of the nest to die and the later part where the survivors have to jump from the nest on their own to learn to to fly. Or end up food.
I also think you learn more from losing than you do winning. I'm not sure how you can win without first losing. If you can, then the competition isn't worth winning.
Don't get me wrong - my generation sucks, too, but the mainstream music I thought was terrible then has only gotten to levels of shit I never could have imagined under yours.

Music today is like at an all time low...
The best radio station is the classic rock on... You seriously have to go back to the 70,80s and early 90s for good music.

Either way...parents, kids, generations, blah, blah, blah.
Individuals make decsions. They make them now and effect later. Most seem to like making them, but few will actually stand behind thiers. Blame your upbrining if you must, it's your descion to make.

I meant classic rock to include the 60s and 70s... Then i was adding 80s and 90s music on top of that.

The problem is that people can't make the right decisions if they're unaware of the option. Or maybe, you can't climb a mountain if you've no muscles or knowledge. You can try if it's only the knowledge that's lacking, but you'd better have luck on your side.
It's not out of empathy that this bothers me, it's that I have to deal with these perpetual babies whenever I go anywhere.

But you can take refuge in the thought that when the downfall comes you (we?) will be able to survive.
My question for the generational differences:
Is proper spelling and grammar given less emphasis in school as time passes? Or do we concern ourselves more with it as we age?

I may not be here for the downfall and there shouldn't have to be one.
Modern technology has definitely discouraged the use of proper spelling and grammar, a process largely begun by popular culture (marketing in one form or another).
