Hi,
My 92 subaru is equipped with automatic seat belts,
one thing I'm very wondering about and even afraid of is whether the
seatbelts is working correctly or not.
When I pulled the lab belt or shoulder belt very abruptly, i.e. very
fast as like when it's in crash, I expected it would be stuck but it
was not stuck at all.
Otherwise, any kinds of crash sensing device activate the seat belt
working ?
Does anybody have some idea about this...?
Thanks ahead

Is my seatbelt working - 92 Legacy ?
I do have the same situation as you does, and I did called the dealer
to replace my both seatbelt, after the new belt installed it still
works same as before. I then called them once and the shop manager
told me that, the belt has some like the ball inside the lock, if the
ball isn't roll forward then the belt won't lock!
Try to brake your car and pull it by hand to see it works or not!
I sure it will work, if not, then you could call to your dealer and
report them the seatbelt isn't work and I think they may replace for
you!!

Is my seatbelt working - 92 Legacy ?
It uses a pendulum inside the mechanism to detect brake and cornering
forces. This locks the belt and keeps you in your seat, and in your
car.
Try Ben's suggestion and if it still doesn't work, get them replaced.

Is my seatbelt working - 92 Legacy ?
Slam on the brakes, the belt should lock. These belts don't lock up as easy as some, but they work when they're suppose to, try a good hard braking test, and go from there.
