92 legacy exhaust help!!!

i have a 92 legacy wagon nonturbo. the other day the cat broke right at the flang. the one from the front down pipe. i want to just cut the tip and put in a new flang with like 2 inches of pipe. does anyone know the size of the factory exhaust? any help would be greatful. napa cant seem to be able to get this info to me. i guess thats what happens when thay hire 17 year old kids and pay them 8.50 an hour....lol.
i allso want to say that this site rocks. it has been a big help for me. i bought this car for 200.00 and has 249,000 on it and still runs great. my first subaru, and i will defently buy another after this one dies.
