Wondering which parts to buy...

Post by ericem »

Hey. Time to rebuild the car :D Well so far my list goes as follows just to keep it running and not making noises and leaking as much.

struts, just struts kyb gr2's $100 each local
timing belt kit seen here I figure for the price seems good tell me if I shouldn't though click me
some remanufactured OEM axles local $100
the radiator I am going to get local, but it won't be oem I will be using oem radiator cap, upper and lower tube, and thermostat though $200 lifetime warranty (going to get more info on "lifetime" warranty)
Now I am wondering about the motor mounts. How do I go about finding ones that work?? Brand new cost way to much. I was thinking mounts like these.

Also saw some wrx motor mounts. I have a automatic AWD so I guess I can't use the transmission mount? Maybe the upper link one though.

Tell me what else I should be looking into? Thanks.

Replace every seal you can i.e. cam seals, front main seal, rear main if you're pulling the engine or tranny.

The only other things I can think of off the top of my head would be the regular stuff like new plugs, wires, air filter, pcv valve, etc.

Well I did all those odds and ends. Just need to do the wires. I am going to do the rear main seal and o-rings and reseal the seperator plate later. right now I don't really plan on pulling the motor.
