WTB highly prized Vikash standalone scan tool
I know this is a long shot but hey! Dibs on a unit if anyone has one that for some reason they don't need anymore.
I'd be willing to pay what you paid for it, or any price below that, which you find fair. Naturaly I'll pay for the shipping and fees.

Yeah, that's pretty much how everyone feels. I still need to snag one for my '92 eventually. I can wait since I still need to get my car running at this point...Arctic Assassian wrote:you're SOL on this one, I just plugged mine in for the first time and I love it!

I could make you one that is the same as the one that I created... its a mixture of the VWRX design and Vikash's. Uses the VWRX dashboard application. By the time i bought all the stuff it cost about 30 bucks in parts if I recall properly. plus the time to build it....

Man that would be sweet. But I'm not sure I understand, is this a more elaborated version of Vikash's software. Do you hook this up to your laptop?? In dash for 30$??head2wind wrote:I could make you one that is the same as the one that I created... its a mixture of the VWRX design and Vikash's. Uses the VWRX dashboard application. I have a laptop, and as I undrestand it if I use Vikash's downloadable software and build a cable to hook up to the car, I will be able to get the same info that the standalone would give me. So I think I'm going to start there for now.
Keep me posted.
Still looking for a Vikash unit, C'mon somebody got frustrated with their turbo and gave up, I'll just take it off your hands.

THe only thing VRG's standalone unit does that his laptop software doesnt is display ecu codes and clear them.
I have the laptop software, and Im planning on building a car PC with an indash LCD screen so that I can display the ECU readout without having a bulky laptop on the passenger seat.
Thanks for this link, it maybe what ive been looking for all along.
Do you have pictures of your working unit?
