higher flow fuel pump
wasn't sure where to ask about about fuel pumps so i will try here.

i have found some walbro pumps for a 2.5rs. has anyone ever fit one of those into a legacy.

Yes. The Walbro 255 for a WRX/STi is a direct swap and flows better than the stock Legacy pump. Plus, it's brand new as opposed to 15+ years old.
Not trying to slap you with the "Search Stick," but search around next time you have a question. Many questions like these have been covered numerous times before.

i was looking on the walbro site and they have the 255 OEM and the 255 HP. and both are $99. is there any reason not to get the high pressure one?
their site says there will be no down side to it. And I am trying to bump my fuel pressure up a little. so i guess i answered my own question.
thanks

Your fuel pressure is dictated by the fuel pressure regulator...

+1 to what Nick said.
The HF fuel pump is only there to replace your old pump with something new that can put out more pressure than the old one.
To up the fuel pressure you'll need a different fuel pressure regulator.

hey that woulb be good to know what kind of replacement i could use for the pressure regulator if i change for a wabro pump

ciper i dont understand what your are saying by if the walbro 255 pump is a direct swap.??? it his or its not direct fit.
and for the regulator pressure what option do we have since someone mention that if we change for the high fuel flow we need to change this regulator for something better?
what are better which can we use as replacement?
This is incorrect. I'm not sure if you meant to say flow, but a high flow pump is meant to increase the flow of fuel, not necessarily pressure.asc_up wrote:+1 to what Nick said.

Because the WRX pump actually flows less then the stock turbo legacy pump. I'd have to look at the manuals to get the exact numbers, but I have looked at it in the past.ciper wrote:If the walbro 255 pump is a direct swap for our cars, and a direct swap for the current WRX then why isn't a used stock WRX pump the preferred upgrade path? So, how much of an upgrade would the wrx OEM stock fuel pump be over the Legacy NA stock fuel pump?ciper wrote:I assumed we were talking about NA cars but good to know.
