Well basically TEIN ststed that from their view it would be a safety hazard. Obviously they don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong. Now, they did give the option of having a complete custom set made by them; way more coin than I have. Currently I'm looking into HKS Hipermax struts and dampers with Swift springs, or complete HKS Hipermax coilovers. And KW is just almost out of my range, but still a contender.

If you wanted to use Teins why not get a used set from e-bay?

I saw a set for a GC8/GF8 on e-bay for $270 buy it now in the US with reasonable shipping costs - a little more than the cost of a set of H&R springs....
If one is leaky send it to Tein for a rebuild ($85-100ish).

I've also seen the Cuscos on e-bay for way less than 2K.
