Are you installing a separate tachometer from the stock one, or did you not have a stock tachometer?

There is a pin on the ECU that outputs engine rpm. I believe you should be able to hook to this and get rpm to the tachometer. I think this ecu I/O should work for your car

I finally got the tach

and it has the normal wiring
red - dc12
black - ground
green - signall terminal

now on the install instructions it says red to ignition and black to negitive battery terminal i get those but i dont get the green it sayz connect to negitive on coil for standard and for electric ignition such as GM,HEL,MSD connect to tach terminal

now i dont know if ive got a coil and i have no idea where the electric ignition is ethier

and every where i look on the searchz they say to hook into the ECU

Please help getting pretty confused?????

I would say green would take into the tach wire from your ecu.

is your car a 5mt or a 4eat?

hey there you have to locate the negative coil or take apart the dash and find the wiring harness to the back of your speedo and rpm gauge pull the harness out and locate the wire which controls your rpm gauge that wire will be your negative coil wire once located put a two ended block in and secure both wires your green wire and the negative coil wire to the rpm wire then plug your harness back in from there you should have no problems hope this helps.

Why would you need/want a shift light tach on an automatic?
